Directions
Begin by performing some basic Photoshop functions. Then, create and apply three color palettes for the poster provided in the Supporting Materials section.
Part One: Basic Photoshop Functions
Specifically, you must perform the basic functions of Photoshop by addressing the following rubric criteria:
1.
Import the provided grayscale image into Adobe Photoshop.
2.
Crop the imported image so the bicycle becomes the focal point.
3.
Resize the cropped image to 625 x 875 pixels.
· This size is the equivalent of 5 inches x 7 inches.
· The best practice would be to ensure that the resolution is at least 125 pixels.
4. Save the resized image as a
JPEG file.
Part Two: Color Palette Creation and Application
Continuing in Photoshop, open the resized grayscale image from Part One. Then, create
three color palettes and colorize the image using these color palettes. Your application of monochromatic, analogous, and complementary color palettes needs to be in line with industry norms.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
1.
Create a monochromatic color palette of five hues.
· Do not create a black, white, or grayscale monochromatic palette.
2.
Apply the monochromatic color palette to the imported grayscale image.
· Include the square color swatches of your monochromatic color palette above or below the image.
3.
Create an analogous color palette of five colors.
4.
Apply the analogous color palette to the imported grayscale image.
· Include the square color swatches of your analogous color palette above or below the image.
5.
Create a complementary color palette of five colors.
6.
Apply the complementary color palette to the imported grayscale image.
· Include the square color swatches of your complementary color palette above or below the image.
7. Save each colorized version of the image as a
JPEG file.
